HBO/NYILFF SHORT FILM COMPETITION INFORMATION
HBO has teamed with THE NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL LATINO FILM FESTIVAL (NYILFF) to find the next hot Latino Filmmaker. The HBO/NYILFF Short Film Competition is an opportunity where the winner will receive $15,000 in funding to produce and direct on digital video (DV) an original short film narrative. The final film produced from the winning screenplay will be presented on screen this summer during the 2008 New York International Latino Film Festival.

Yasuyo Tanaka Paper Artist
Ms. Tanaka will be speaking about her upcoming workshop "Books as Art". This workshop offers participants special ways to showcase their art portfolios and make their artist books in modern ways using classical techniques. As an artist, Yasuyo Tanaka finds bookbinding to be very useful for developing her creative process and expanding her ideas. During this lecture,she will explain the scope of her workshop, answer your questions, and show some mockup books and other example of her work.
